Happy 3rd Day of Maslenitsa! 🥞✨
The Sweet Tooth Day | Лакомка the sweetest day of Russian Pancake Week.

Boris Kustodiev “Shrovetide” 1919
On Day 3 of Maslenitsa, families gather for blini with honey, jam, sour cream, and caviar. On this day, the mother-in-law was especially kind to her son-in-law, openly showing her affection and approval. Guests would admire the scene, thinking how lucky he was with his new family. But there was practical wisdom behind it: people believed that the warmer the mother-in-law treated her son-in-law on this day of Maslenitsa, the stronger and happier her daughter’s marriage would be.
