Today, June 12, is the Day of Russia. This national holiday celebrates the moment in 1990 when the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Russian Federation was signed. It marked the beginning of a new chapter in the country’s modern history. Across Russia, people come together to take part in concerts, exhibitions, and other cultural events, reflecting on their shared past and hopes for the future.
It is also a great day to highlight projects that unite people through creativity. One of them is #МУЗЫКАВМЕСТЕ #musictogether. This project was created by guitarist and composer Timur Vedernikov. It brings together young musicians from cities across Russia to rehearse, perform, and create music as a team. All recordings were made live. Check out my favourite song.
#musictogether is not just about performance. It is about connection, learning, and the joy of working on something meaningful side by side. It shows how music can break down barriers and help people grow.
On the Day of Russia, this project is a beautiful reminder that unity is not only found in history but also in shared creativity.
