“Golden autumn” is a common phrase in Russian used to describe the beauty of the fall season. The Russian fall season is definitely my favorite season of the year and I would highly recommend visiting Russia in early fall so that you can enjoy the gorgeous landscapes, the quiet beauty of churches reflected in a still surface of lakes and rivers, and the spectacular gold colour of leaves and the crisp cool air.

The renowned 19th century Russian painter Isaak Levitan is known as a creator of the “mood landscape” genre; he painted a series of fall Russian landscapes including the famous “Golden autumn.” (see above)
So fall is not only about pumpkin spice lattes and squash soup but also about the beauty of art.
